Pro tip: pre-cut your fruit and store it in some Tupperware and peel your eggs, so you don’t make a mess on the go.

Oatmeal packets, or better yet cups, are perfect for road trip food for a quick and nutritious breakfast.

All you’ll need to do is add some hot water, which you can do at your hotel / motel / campsite before you hit the road or even at any gas station. Just as for a cup of boiled water. If they serve tea and coffee, they’ll probably be able to do this for you free of charge.

Banana Oat Muffins

If you love a sweet breakfast, banana oat muffins are a must-add to your road trip food list.

I love this recipe and I add some collagen or protein powder for an extra protein boost to keep my blood sugar balanced. You can also do this with banana bread.

Cream Cheese Bagel

As someone who lived in New York for six years, not much can beat a cream cheese bagel for breakfast in my book.

Add some cucumbers or dried fruit and you have a delicious, filling breakfast.

Mason jar salads are one of the most popular road trip lunch ideas.

Layer your favorite salad ingredients (lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and whatever else you like) in a mason jar with some dressing at the bottom. This way, nothing will get soggy on the go!

The greatest road trip food of all time is, undoubtedly, the classic PB&J sandwich. It’s easy to make and it’s a great way to get your protein and carbs while on the go.

This was a family road trip classic for me growing up!
